Welcome
to the Scottish -Irish Faire 2008
Driving Directions from
the West
If you are traveling out of the West on
Interstate 20, come to the Midkiff Rd. exit 134 and exit off to
the right. Turn Left and travel up over I-20 that you just exited. Turn
Right just before the Chevron Station and travel East on the
North Access Rd. for approximately 8 tenths of a mile and you will
see the Large Horseshoe Complex on the Left side of the road. You
will make a Left turn into the complex across traffic. If you don’t want
to fight traffic here then stay on the Interstate and go to the Rankin
Highway exit and loop under Highway 20 and travel West on the
North Access Road staying in the far right lane and going right by the
Comfort Inn and the West Texas Inn immediately after Left turning
over Rankin Highway. You travel down by the Petroleum Museum and
at approximately 1.2 miles then you will be making a right turn into the
Horseshoe Complex. Drive right up to the large double doors on the
largest building on the left side of the parking lot and we will be driving
right into the arena to set up.
For finding the guest motel: Make a right turn on the
access road and go West for approximately 8 tenths of a mile
making a Right turn on to Midkiff Rd. Travel down Midkiff Rd.
for approximately 1 mile. At the light at Wall St. you make a
Right turn, (be sure and swing wide left as the road makes a "Y" and you
want the left branch of the "Y".) The left lane keeps you on Wall St. for
4 tenths of a mile and you will be sitting at the side of the
Ramada Inn Limited, which is at 3100 West Wall St. in Midland. (The front of
the Ramada Inn faces out on Powell St. and you can keep an eye out for
that Street Marker as well.) They will serve a Continental Breakfast but the
Horseshoe vendor will be selling breakfast at the Horseshoe as well, for a fee
of course.
If you are coming into Midland on 191 from the
direction of Odessa, Texas notice the big Cingular building where you exit and
take our Loop 250 South for 3.6 miles and pick up Interstate 20. Then
follow the directions given in paragraph one.
Another way you might come from Odessa is on Business
20 (Old Highway 80). You travel East out of Odessa once you come under the 338
overpass for 11.7 miles and you cross over Midkiff Rd. near Denny’s Restaurant.
If you want to go to the Horseshoe Complex first then make a Right
turn on Midkiff Rd. and travel approximately One Mile making a
left turn onto the Access Road traveling East for about 8
tenths of a mile. You have to make a left turn into the Complex watching for
on coming traffic. To find the guest motel make a right after leaving the
Horseshoe Complex and go to Midkiff Rd. travel approximately One
Mile make a Right turn (swing wide to the left as the road makes a
"Y" and you want to take the left road of the "Y"). This road turns into Wall
St. and when you have gone 4 tenths of a mile and you are at 3100 W.
Wall you will be at the side of the guest motel. It faces out on Powell St.
so you might look for that Street Marker as well
This is a map of where the County
Horseshoe Complex is located. It is
on the north frontage road of I 20 and Cotton Flat Road. Click on map to

Driving Directions from
the East
If
you are coming into Midland from the East traveling on Interstate Highway 20,
remember that you are going to the South side of Midland. Exit off of I-20 on
the Right side of the Highway at Exit 136. This is right beside the new
Wal-Mart Super Center. You come down on the North Access Rd. and
you must cross over the Rankin Highway to continue on the North Access
Rd. You may want to mark your mileage at this time. (Be sure and
keep hard Right and go in front of the Comfort Inn and next the West
Texas Inn.) As you continue down the North Access Rd. you will pass the
Petroleum Museum on your right. When about past the Petroleum Museum you
should be able to see the roof of the Horseshoe Complex. There will be
an overpass for Cotton Flat Rd. ahead and as soon as you come out from under the
overpass at 1.2 miles you will make a Right turn into the
Horseshoe Complex. The entry is marked with a Large Horseshoe sign.
The Arena is the largest of all the buildings and has big double doors
on the end of the building facing the parking lot. We will be driving in the
building and off loading our stuff.
How
to find the Guest Motel:

you leave the Horseshoe Complex you make a Right turn on the
Access Road and travel roughly 8 tenths of a mile until you come to

turning Right onto Wall. (Swing wide left as I want to
take you down Wall St. (Road makes a Y right after you turn on to
it, you want to be in the left part of the Y.) Traveling on Wall St. for
4 tenths of a mile you will come to 3100 West Wall and Powell St.
intersects it. This is where the Ramada Inn Limited is located. You
will be at the side of the building as it actually faces out on Powell St.

Breakfast but the Horseshoe Vendor will be serving breakfast things at the
Horseshoe Complex as well, for a fee of course.

large Horseshoe sign. Drive right up to the large double doors on the
largest building on the left side of the parking lot and we will be driving
right into the arena to set up.

the Interstate Highway 20 overpass (making a right turn onto the Access Road
before the Chevron Station.) You will make a Left turn into the
Horseshoe Complex watching for on coming traffic.

on Midkiff Rd. You go until you first come to a light and cross over
the Railroad tracks and then you will come to a stop light at Wall St.
(having traveled 1.8 miles) make a Right turn but swing wide
Left as I want to take you down Wall St. (Road makes a Y right after
you turn on to it and you need to be in the left part of the Y.) Traveling on
Wall St. for 4 tenths of a mile you will come to 3100 West Wall
and Powell Street intersects it. This is where the Ramada Inn Limited
is located. You will be at the side of the building as it actually faces out on

at the Northern edge of Midland continue on the same 349 Highway or Big
Spring as the street is named, for just over 3 miles until you
come to Wall St. in downtown Midland. After you cross Wall St continue
on South for just over 4 miles when the name of the street changes
to Rankin Highway (it changes name after a long sweeping bend to the left

strip mall that has McAlister’s Deli and the Dollar Tree in it at approximately
4.8 miles. You can see the overpass for Interstate 20 up over you.
Make
a Right turn on to the North Access Rd. but bear hard Right
and go down in front of the Comfort Inn, and then the West Texas Inn.
Next you will pass the Petroleum Museum on your right side and when
you have traveled 6.1 miles from the Loop 250 overpass (right after
coming under the Cotton Flat Rd. overpass) you make a Right turn into the
Large Horseshoe Complex. Drive right up to the large double doors on the
largest building on the left side of the parking lot and we will be driving
right into the arena to set up.
For finding the guest motel: Make a right turn on
the access road and go West for approximately 8 tenths of a mile
making a Right turn on to Midkiff Rd. Travel up Midkiff Rd.
for approximately 1 mile. At the light at Wall St. you make a

Wall St. for .4 tenths of a mile and you will be sitting at the side
of the Ramada Inn Limited, which is at 3100 West Wall St. in Midland.
